When I was 15, my mom was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. Insurance denied her double mastectomy, leaving her to live uneven. She tucked rolled-up socks into her bra just to feel like herself again. She fought bravely for years, but we lost her in 2023.
Through it all, she never stopped fighting for others. She passionately advocated for research & preached early detection to everyone she met: “Schedule your mammogram. Do your monthly self-checks.” She’d have told a million women if it helped save just one.
